On Wednesday 27 April, we are holding the third Joint Primary Care Co-commissioning Committee Public Meeting at Southdown Methodist Church Centre in Bath and we would like to invite B&NES residents to join the meeting.
This is an opportunity for members of the public to consider, discuss and be involved in decisions about local primary health care services.
At this meeting, there will be an update on changes happening at St James’ branch surgery, a presentation from Healthwatch about public engagement in primary care, and a presentation from NHS England about ‘making time in General Practice’.
In the past, the CCG commissioned hospital and acute services, while NHS England commissioned primary care services. Since 2015, BaNES CCG has held more responsibility and been more involved in the design and commissioning (buying) of primary care services, in a joint arrangement with NHS England.
Joint commissioning means we have greater influence across the entire local health system.
